Briefing of changes to the Local Enhanced Service Level Agreement for Preparation of Medical Records Chart Service (MRC) (EL6b) – HULL

Hull CCG in conjunction with the Hull City Council are holding a briefing evening for community pharmacies regarding changes to the Local Enhanced Service Level Agreement for Preparation of Medical Records Chart Service resulting from the updated Universal Medication Policy. (UMP)

The UMP policy outlines the agreed use of the Medication Record Chart (MRC), and ensures  best practice for care workers in all aspects of adult social care who are involved in the handling and administration of medicines. Changes to the policy will have an impact for community pharmacy.

The session will outline policy changes relating to:

  • Warfarin procedure
  • MRC and Discharge
  • Halving of tablets
  • HCPs transcribing when supplying medication

The briefing will be held for community pharmacy staff on Thursday 14th July, Village Hotel, Hull 6.30pm for food, followed by as presentation at 7pm.

We would request that one representative attends from each pharmacy.

Hull City Council and Hull CCG approved the revised Universal Medication Policy in January 2016.

The Universal Medication Policy provides direction of best practice for care workers in all aspects of adult social care who are involved in the handling and administration of medicines.

A Medication Record Chart (MRC) is used by care workers employed by or commissioned by Hull City Council to record the administration of medication.

Hull City Council and Hull CCG approved the revised Universal Medication Policy in January 2016.  This policy will be launched on 1st August 2016.
