Community Pharmacy in 2016/17 and beyond

In an open letter to PSNC, revealed at a meeting hosted by pharmacy minister Alistair Burt on 17th December 2015, the government announced that funding for community pharmacy in 2016/17 will be cut by £170m. The cut, from £2.8bn to £2.63bn, is a reduction of more than 6% in cash terms.

Community Pharmacy Humber is aware that contractors and their employees will be anxious and concerned by this announcement.  We are working with our neighbouring LPCs and PSNC to coordinate and implement a robust campaign against the proposed funding reduction.

We are aware that various organisations are producing template letters to send to you MP.  We urge you to contact us before you send an individual letter.  It is important that as a profession we send a consistent message at the right time in order to address the proposed changes and funding cuts to community pharmacy.

We will keep this page updated with the local work we are doing to protect against these proposed cuts.

For more general information, visit PSNC’s page about the proposed cuts.
